"The decision for me to fly out to the Philippines was about a year of contemplation but really became a definite motive about a month before leaving. My friend Peanut told me he had been sending boards out to a neighborhood called
'Bahay Toro' in Quezon City, the most populated region in Metro Manila.
I had zero to little knowledge about the spot outside and a vague idea of how I would be getting around. I was just aware that Toro shared a resemblance to Dunbat and that a handful of other Filipino creatives from Toronto - including the Life Design team would be in Manila around the same time. With about 20 rolls of film & enough money to last about a month, | took the chance to embark on an independent documentary trip to capture skateboarding and life in the Philippines."
